Common Questions

Do I need any jiu-jitsu experience to start?

Not at all. Most new clients come in with zero background. Your first session is a no-pressure assessment where we figure out where you are, what you want, and map out a plan from there.

Is this gi or no-gi training?

Both. Sessions are tailored to your goals, whether that is gi, no-gi, or self-defense-focused grappling. Just let Coach Greg know your preference when you book.

Is there live training or sparring?

Yes, including technical sparring. It is always done at a safe, comfortable pace. Every student is different in experience, level, and understanding, and training is adjusted accordingly.

Can you train me at my home or gym?

Yes. In-home and at-your-gym personal training is available in Hewlett, Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, and Malverne. Everything else runs out of our private training space in Hewlett.

What does it cost?

The intro evaluation is $49, one time. Ongoing training runs as a simple monthly membership for private or small-group sessions. We walk through the right plan together at your intro, with no pressure.
